Begin with letting your mind loose. DO NOT THINK ABOUT WHAT YOUR DRAWING. Place your pencil on the paper and without picking up the pencil let your imagination free. When your through with whatever it was that you chose to draw (ex: in class we drew our favorite food) you will be able to compare what your imagination can overpower your mind.
Having let go of your imagination you can see how it becomes a creative act by understanding that it does not have to be understood or thought through. Sometimes your best ideas can come when you do them unconsciously.
